MAIN WEBSITE http://fairyland.lagernet.com/ Fairyland is an online role playing game type thing set in a land where fairy-tales have taken shelter from modern times. Like most games there is a run around and kill things element, but what sets this game apart for me anyway is it is a good AFK (Away From Keyboard) game. The nature of the game forces you to wait at times giving you time to clean your room. (Blushes as he looks around) Gameplay is divided into two main games, per say. Run around and kill things and workskills. Eventually you need to do both as quests require products produced in workskills. There is a whole economy within the game as workskills can be used to manufacture in game items such as potions etc. Higher level items can only be made our bought from another player on open market.
This is the 4th incarnation (as far as I am aware) of FairyLand. We can only hope that Lager takes the lesson of Greedy Hatch to heart.
My IGN, just in case you see me around and want to say Hi to one of my AFK workers. :)
I tend to play Traders and AoLs. So this section is about each of them in turn and I hope, some starting advice.
It's all about the money baby! If you want a trader you are best off playing as a Dwarf. Dwarves are naturally lucky. It is worth your while NOT to level your trader beyond level 10.
Traders come in two major varieties that I call Lucky Boy and Work Horse. To start off both pump up your Con for a while. Then depending on which you want, start dumping your points into Luck or Strength by your choice. Lucky Boys are for finding Cards, Dolls and other drops. Work Horses are all about carrying big loads around. I tend towards Lucky, but it is a shades of grey thing.
Go straight for the Illium blacksmith and learn Mining. If you have the money now, also buy the stuff to learn Metalworking. Go mine coal and ores until you get up to the level where Grinding Sand is YELLOW.
Save your amethist ores and/or beg and plead until you get 10 amethist ores. Learn Gemcutting. If Jewlery Making was implemented at this point I would encourage you to learn it too. (10 cut corals)
Go to Golburg Jewler and buy Crystal Ores. Now, if you have Gemcutting, as long as you have the materials, you can work anywhere. I cut them gem ores, then go to the store, and sell them for a VERY good markup. Repeat. Sand, Crystal Ores.. Store = LOTS of coin.
You will NEED all that coin because Trader Skills use money. Once you get your Trading high enough (after lots of expensive bribery / trechery) the NPCs give you bonus on sales. Especially with manufactured goods... the markup is VERY good. Once again, you will NEED all that money.
A warning with Traders. You and your party members get a LOT of junk. Expect it. Enjoy it or do a lot of Littering. :)
Leveling your AoL is simple. Get a mean fire pet. (It is nice to have a rich trader or BM in your stable). If you or your pet gets a scratch, heal it. Don't wait. Let your pet do all the work. Pray a LOT! Your Light Magic powers up. Beg a friend to take you to the Temple of Light to get new spells. Once you get the Light Blast...
I have a lot of old information about Fairyland from previous incarnations. I am slowly getting them online. The information is not accurate as Lager is still getting NPCs and workskills online. I will try to keep up getting the rest of my archive of stuff online and readable.

OK. Lets see if the comments field is working correctly here on the fairyland page. I am guessing not.7/18/2009 6:39:49 PM
